Show us Your Speed and School Spirit!
 

This year we’re calling on all middle-school students in Burlington and Oakville to show us their speed and school spirit.  We’ve organized two special events for groups of 8 or more students in grades 7 or 8.  Both events feature a $150 cash prize to the winning team!

Best Team Time - 5K

• Enter a team of 8 or more runners

• We calculate the average time to run 5K for the fastest 8 runners on each team (based on finishing times in our race)

• The team with the lowest average time wins $150!

Best School Spirit

• Enter a team of 8 or more runners

• Impress our judges with a school cheer after the run. Earn bonus points for wearing school colours, sporting fun T-Shirts, adding dance moves and the originality of lyrics in the cheer.

• The team with the most spirit wins $150! *

Teams are encouraged to enter these events with the guidance of teaching or coaching staff. Teams that are not lead by school staff must be supervised by a capable adult. Race organizers will coordinate participation with the team’s designated supervisor.

The cost to participate is $25 per student. This covers ‘chip’ timing, a race medal, a simple pancake breakfast, plus fruit and water after the race. Other food options will also be available on-site for a fee.

Students are encouraged to raise funds for their efforts!

Bronte Creek charges a Park Entry fee of $18 per car, or $63 per bus, paid at the gate.   
Teams must register in advance to participate.  Race Entry Fees can be paid at the race by cash, cheque or credit card (individually, or as a group).

* All teams cheers will be evaluated by a panel of 3 impartial judges who are members of The Rotary Club of Burlington North.
